The evangelical church is under constant threat to compromise its reliance on biblical truth. The human desire to be accepted, to not be seen as "outside the mainstream," can be overwhelming. But that desire is our weakness, our downfall. It does not always immediately destroy the dam we build to protect the waters of truth, but instead it leads to tiny fissures that grow until destruction is inevitable.

Twenty years ago, I experienced the painful demise of the Episcopal Church, which once was a bastion of biblical truth. It was not a pretty picture. It was a picture painted in the primary colors of relentlessness and deception.

The combination of those elements inevitably led some sincere folks to weariness, and willingness to compromise, and yes, ultimately to surrender. For those who sought peace at any price, conformity over conviction, and popularity over principle, capitulation seemed the easier way out.

The initial compromise, which caused the first cracks in the dike, seemed innocent enough at the time: the ordination of women.

But to truly understand how that initial compromise caused a wave of liberalism to overcome biblical boundaries within the Episcopal Church (and soon by the rest of the mainline denominations), we have to understand the different groups involved.

Sincere followers of Christ made up the first group. They believed in Jesus and the scriptures. To them, the effort to ordain women seemed genuine. But they ultimately bought into the secular argument that the ordination of women was merely an issue of equality, sharing power, responding to new realities, and gaining relevancy with modern culture. Those believers were most troublesome of all. Although they adhered to the secular perspective, no one could accuse them of having "departed the faith once delivered."

The second group, which pushed the breached even further, was comprised of people who were religious but biblically illiterate. They followed a simple faith not rooted in history. They were more willing to follow than to think.

The third group was made up of committed liberals, or as I prefer to call them, apostates. That group often worked behind the scenes. They hid in the shadows, preferring to steer the second group forward while putting pressure on the first group. They fueled the secular media with proclamations that the church was "hopelessly out of touch with the real world" or that the "male-dominated church is unwilling to share power with women."

The media -- which loves to denigrate the church and its leadership for refusing to adhere to a godless culture -- used its powerful megaphone to condemn the church. Of course, the media never understood that ministry in the Church of Jesus Christ is not about power. A pastor models himself after Jesus, who "did not come to be served, but to serve."

When apostate Christians and agnostics were allowed to set the agenda and define the arguments, the faint of heart self-consciously sought to surrender. Quickly abandoned were Martin Luther's words: "Here I stand. I can do no other."

The evangelical church is under constant threat to compromise its reliance on biblical truth.

The Protestant Evangelical/Fundamentalist church is one of the three major heretical, Satan-controlled death cults in the world, the other two being Islam and Judaism. Their Holy Sacrament is blood, death, and misery and their hate and blood lust have made a mockery of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who was the Prince of Peace, not a God of War.

The Protestant Evangelical/Fundamentalist church has twisted Holy Scripture to make themselves the subservient protectors of Judaism, whose validity ended when Jesus was crucified. They have willingly involved themselves and this country in the power struggle between the demonic death cults of Islam and Judaism, all the while falsely claiming that God commands it. They have turned away from God.

On a political level, they are as bad as the leftists when it comes to their desire to grow the size of government. The only difference between the two is where they want to spend the money, and even that difference is shrinking on a daily basis. They have no desire to shrink the size of government like real conservatives. They just want to move it around so that more money is spent on war (as opposed to defense) and the police state so that they can pay homage to Satan by increasing the amount of blood, death, and misery within these United States and throughout the world.

The good news is that good always triumphs over evil. As the death cults spread more and more misery in this country and throughout the world, people will begin to see them for what they are and will turn back to Jesus Christ.

Yeah. That's it. That's why virtually EVERY country Catholicism takes hold becomes a socially Marxist, economic basket case. Catholicism is codified pagan worship.

Catholicism, Judaism and Islam are the triumvirate of capital 'E' evil in this world. Jesus Christ ALONE is the intercessor on mankind's behalf. Not Mary, and certainly not the Pope.

So there are only two branches of Christianty? Catholics and the American Fundamentalist death cult?

The 250 MILLION members of the Eastern Orthodox church would be suprised to hear that. So would the members of the various Oriental Orthodox churches as well as the Lutherans.

I don't follow your 'logic'. I'm guessing your religion is skewing your ability to think and read clearly. I have no idea from where you drew your conclusions, base on what you quote. Are orthodox churches recognized by Rome? Because I know no Protestant sects, certainly not Lutheranism (interesting you should select that particular one out of so many) is recognized by Rome. In fact their Middle Ages Crusades were directed as much at Protestants, whom they regard as infidel as Muslims and any other non-Catholic.

how is this possible? the middle ages and the crusades were concluded after the black death ravaged europe in the 1300s. protestant religions weren't even thought of until martin luther crept on the scene afterwards in the 1500s.

you are thoroughly confused. the holy roman catholic church murdered millions of jews and muslims during the crusades upto the black plague in the 1300s. protestants weren't around until after the religious bloodbaths. you are confusing the thirty years war in europe based on the protestant retaliations of the roman catholic church but that was in the 1600s which happen hundreds of years after the major crusades.

I'm impressed; someone here actually is dealing in true historical facts. I'm impressed. Now you are someone who seems worthy of mentioning some facts others appear to be curious about in here to.

In England during the reign of Elizabeth I it was believed that witchcraft and sorcery would be used to restore Catholicism to England and put a Catholic back on the throne.

There was an odd story regarding Elizabeth I's infamous prosecution of witches, in that it seems to have resulted from earlier rumors concerning her mother, Anne Boleyn.

It was widely believed that Anne was a witch, although the rumors were started mainly to undermine Elizabeth's position in her lineage to the throne.

It is thought possible the Emperor Charles V's ambassador, Eustace Chapuys made the first accusation on behalf of his king.

As part of his attempts to prevent Henry VIII from divorcing Catherine of Aragon and marrying Anne Anne Boleyn, Chapuys described Anne as an evil woman, who 'used witchcraft to manipulate and control the king'.

Nicholas Sander, the Catholic writer and priest added to the mix with claims that Anne Boleyn had 'a tumor on her neck, and six fingers on her right hand.

Six fingers at the time were considered a good indicator of someone being a witch.

However, even Eustace Chapuys had failed to mention either deformities, even though he was in fact a very hostile witness with no use for her.

Sanders also claimed that Anne had been having sexual relations with at least two men, even though at the time this supposedly happened she had not reached puberty and was only seven.

The most strange of his claims though was that Anne Boleyn was the product of Henry VIII and his alleged mistress, Lady Elizabeth Boleyn, thus claiming Anne had married her own father.

Henry VIII had been desperate for a male heir and in the aftermath of Anne Boleyn's failure to do so after marrying her, claimed her children Elizabeth, her stillborn and miscarried children were actually the product of her and a lover.

Witches at this time were considered as incapable of bearing healthy children, so her having produced a healthy daughter, but in spite of this, Henry charged his wife with witchcraft and attempted to poison his eldest daughter Mary and the Duke of Richmond, his illegitimate son.

Witches were reputed to have numerous lovers, to poison their enemies, to inflict impotence on men, and to engage in incest and sodomy. His charges made it necessary to unmask her alleged lovers and resulted in Anny Boleyn's trial.

Five men were found guilty of having relations with the Queen between October 1533 and December 1535 and were executed on May 17, 1536. Two others were exonerated and released. And of course as we all know, Anne Boleyn was beheaded.

The witch hunt craze Elizabeth I took part in that swept the world in the 16th and 17th centuries was fully understandable from the standpoint of the underlying factors that sparked and fueled it.

First, Christianity had not fully overcome existing Pagan beliefs. Secondly, there were the power struggles of opposing religious groups to influence their rulers. Thirdly, it presented a means of taking revenge, a way of getting rid of one's rivals and an easy way to point the finger at anyone who in anyway seemed 'different.'

In these insular and superstitious European societies of this period the apparent dangers of what was called witchcraft seemed all too real to them: how better to explain a stillborn child, a cow that produced no milk or a crop that failed?

To anyone who know history and has any sense, the prosecution of witchcraft in this period of European History I talk about was not anymore justifiable then the scapegoating of Jews by the Nazis in the 20th Century, and people who suffered from this oppression then were as innocent a group of victims as those of the Shoah.

I'm an Evangelical, and I was likely fighting communists and the Left when you were in diapers. It wasn't the Evangelicals who promoted Liberation Theology and supported Left wing agendas, but Roman Catholics. Deconstruction is their middle name.

Maybe so but that has nothing to do with the fact that you belong to a heretical, Satan-controlled death cult that dances in the blood of dead Americans in order to further Lucifer's agenda of spreading death, destruction, and misery throughout the world. Even worse is how your cult befouls the name of Jesus Christ by trying to associate his name with your evil.

The cult of Judaism is a heresy and has been since Jesus was crucified yet your cult has not only aligned itself with it in order to fight a competing Satanic death cult, you have proudly made yourself subservient to Judaism and twist Holy Scripture in order to justify your heresy by making the claim that the Old Testament commands you to protect the Jews. Which would be fine if by Jews you meant the people of Israel (which is what the Bible was referring to). However, it is clear that you do not mean the people of Israel, you mean the Jewish religion - which is a heresy.

Genetic testing has proved beyond a reasonable doubt that many of the Muslim and Christian Arabs who were living in the area for generations prior the founding of Israel (to include Palestinians), are as Jewish as the European Jews you claim the Bible orders you to protect. So your cult has taken the side of one group of Israelite's to the detriment of other groups of Israelites. On top of that, your cults demand that the US government attack Islamic countries has been instrumental in destroying Christian communities that have been existence since the time of the Apostles or soon after. A clear indication of Satan's hand. And please, spare me with your "I have x number of Phd's from the Cracker Jack Bible Institute." I am not impressed. I've read the scripture the death cults use to justify their blood lust. It is clear that the Old testament is talking about the Israeli's as a people, not as the Judaic religion. It is also clear that the Judaic religion is a dead religion and ceased to be valid the moment the veil was torn.

As far as "fighting the left" goes, if you are supporting a Republican other than Ron Paul then YOU ARE THE LEFT. You are just a minute fraction less left than the Democrats you claim to oppose yet have so much in common with. Every single one of the mainstream Republican candidates is far to the left of Ronald Reagan. They are all adherents of big government and they all champion a police state. As far as I am concerned they are text book examples of the left. So they are not as left as Obama is - big friggin' deal - they are still filthy leftists who are not worthy of the support of those claiming to be small government conservatives. As Bush and the Republicans have already proven, not only will the status quo Republican candidates NOT roll back anything that Obama and the Democrats have implemented, they will add to and expand it. Many of the people voting for the status quo claim they just want to keep Obama from being reelected, but by casting a vote for the status quo they are telling the Republican Party that they approve of their leftist agenda.

The left libertarian loons are ... 180 degrees opposite of reality - republicans --- siamese twins with the liberals !

The apocalypse will take over !

It seemed that indeed the truth would be 'forever on the scaffold, and wrong forever on the throne'.

With great eagerness he listened to the query, 'How long shall be the vision?'(Daniel 8:13)."

Daniel and the Coming King

Chapter 16

The Gospel In Daniel 9:24

By Dr.Desmond Ford

"It would be tragic if we contented ourselves with an analytical examination of this passage of Scripture. It is not merely a scintillating gem to be admired, but the bread of life to be eaten. It consists of 'the everlasting gospel' in minature."

"That which should concern us all the more than the issues of hermeneutics is the issue of life---our life. Not minutiae of prophetic interpretation, but sin, sorrow, and death constitute our problems.

Daniel 9:24 assures us that the world is a ship and not an iceberg, that God is intensely interested in our dilemma, and, best of all, that He has done something to extricate us from the apparent cul-de-sac of existence.

In Christ, the Melchizedekan King-Priest, He has brought in everlasting righteousness, freely offered to all who believe."

Chapter 14

Daniel and the Coming King---Daniel 9

By Dr.Desmond Ford

"Sir Isaac Newton, the greatest of scientists prior to the modern period, wrote a commentary upon the prohecies of Daniel and Revelations. He desribed Daniel 9:24-27 as "the foudation-stone of the Christian religion" because centuries in advance it gave the time of appearance of the Messiah and His death, as well as a comprehensive description of His saving work in heaven and earth. The prophecy likewise tells what would be the fate of the Jews consequent upon their rejection of the One whose coming they had long anticpated. The destruction of Jerusalem in A.D. 70, foretold in Daniel 9:24-27, was history's testimony that the offerings and services of the sanctuary had met their fulfillment in the advent of the promised Messiah."

Newton, Isaac. Observsations Upon the Prophecies of Daniel and the Apocalpse of St. John. London: J. Darby and T. Browne, 1733 (Isaac Newton)

Chapter 14

Daniel and the Coming King---Daniel 9

by Dr.Desmond Ford

Seal Up the Vision

"The expression 'to seal up the vision' (v.24) should be considered. This expression, 'the vision', occurs eleven times in Daniel 8:1 to 10:1, and in all these cases it refers to the vision described in the eighth chapter of Daniel. The reader is advised to read again the entire passage. In pictorial, symbolic form the prophet was shown the unfolding of all future centuries till the second advent of Christ. The famous empires, Medo-Persia, Greece, and Rome, which long oppressed the people of God, are described; but particular emphasis is given to the persecution of the church during the Christian era and also to the supremacy of the couterfeit, apostate religion over most of that period. Christ's mediatorial ministry in heaven is alluded to, but its eclipse from men's mind through a counterfeit system is fortold. The sanctuary mentioned refers both to the church temple indwelt by the Holy Spirit on earth, as well as Israel's typical sanctuary. No doubt Daniel was dazed by this revelation of the apparent triumph of evil. In his lifetime he had witnessed the destruction of Jerusalem's temple, the center of true religion, and the carrying into captivity of the people of God by an idolatrous and desolating nation. Now in vision he is informed that this state of affairs is to continue on a much greater scale throughout most of the earth's history. It seemed that indeed the truth would be 'forever on the scaffold, and wrong forever on the throne'. With great eagerness he listened to the query, 'How long shall be the vision?'(Daniel 8:13)."

"Now in the revelation of 9:24-27 the mourning seer is told that there is a greater Prince of the house of Judah, a greater atonement, a greater sanctuary, and a greater redemption than any ever before experienced by Israel. The long- awaited Messiah, the Prince, a Priest-King, will take away the sin of the world and end earth's dark night. Thus 9:24 and 8:14 point to the same reality---the kingdom of God ignaugurated at the first advent and consummated at the second."

If you ... don't use exclamation points --- you should't be typeing ! Commas - semicolons - question marks are for girlie boys !

It's a complete free-speech forum, probably most notable for not being too fond of the kinds of people who live in Israel. I don't think you could find a thread or post that she ever pulls. Other than that, it's a lot like LP.

LP is the first stop when people leave or get booted off FR. Then some food fight inevitably happens and they get banned or leave LP. Then they go to LF or 4um or TPF.

It's kind of like Dante's seven circles of hell.
