Congressional Dems Appear To Be Worried About Glenn Beck, Seriously » 11 commentsby Glynnis MacNicol | 12:22 pm, July 12th, 2010 Looks like someone out there is taking Glenn Becks university very seriously. And by someone I mean the DCCC: the official campaign arm of the Democrats in the House of Representatives. This is the email that just arrived in my inbox, subject line: @Stake: Glenn Beck University. Friend Need any more evidence that the right-wing scream machine is already on full throttle? How about Glenn Beck starting his own university (seriously), Karl Rove cashing in (literally) on the Supreme Courts radical decision allowing unlimited corporate money in elections, and Newt Gingrich campaigning for a former reality TV show star? And just think, its only July.
Included in the email (text here) is a link to the DCCCs Facebook page which is running a poll to find out what courses should be taught at Glenn Becks new University. Seriously.
Perhaps the DCCC (Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee) site merely needs a traffic boost. Glenn Beck is certainly good for traffic. Because, otherwise, why else focus on Becks university which, as Ive noted before, is really just a rather ingenious move to re-brand himself, and reuse already existing material. Seems to me that in sending out an email (to goodness knows how many supporters) and launching a Facebook poll about Glenn Beck what you are in fact doing is communicating to your supporters that you do take Glenn Beck seriously. Quite seriously.
