Rand Paul Is Not A Libertarian
Post Date: 2015-04-06 10:01:38 by Gatlin
On April 7, Rand Paul the junior Senator from Kentucky will announce his candidacy for President of the United States. Paul is pitching himself as a different kind of Republican leader. Media reports tout his appeal to young conservatives and libertarians. Libertarians, in general, are fiscally conservative but socially liberal, with a non-interventionist approach to foreign policy. His father, Ron Paul is a libertarian cult figure who had tremendous appeal to young Republicans. Rand Paul is clearly marketing himself as the heir apparent to those supporters the one candidate with a chance of expanding the Republican base. Rest of ...

Easter is upon us. But who is Jesus? Upon reading the Scriptures, it becomes clear that the real Jesus, as opposed tothe tamed, lame, and maimed Politically Correct Jesus who Christian clerics as much as anyone have been promoting for years, was the antithesis of the meek, mild mannered, nonjudgmental man of whom Christians and non-Christians alike hear about at every turn. The latter placates this generations political-moral sensibilities, but he hardly fits the profile of a person who gave rise to a religion claiming billions of followers. The truth about Jesus, in His own day as in ours, is hard. For starters,Marcionism was a school of thought from the second century ...

Obama Manages To Bring Racism Into His Official Statement Marking Passover
The bridge he talks about Civil Rights leaders marching across into the Promised Land in his Passover statement just happens to be the one featured in the White House Twitter feed(and out of which he cut George W. Bush who was walking on the right hand side): Via WhiteHouse.gov: Statement from the President on Passover Michelle and I send our warmest greetings to all those celebrating Passover in the United States, in the State of Israel, and throughout the world. Tonight, for the seventh year, Ill hold a Seder in the White House, and well join millions of Jewish families as we ...
Geologists claim stats, science prove Jesus buried in Jerusalem with wife and supposed son
Post Date: 2015-04-06 08:09:47 by Willie Green
An Israeli geologist believes he has found the tomb of Jesus in Jerusalem, and this time, the tomb of his supposed son is buried along with him. After 150 chemical tests, Canadian-Israeli filmmaker-journalist Simcha Jacobovici and geoarcheologist Aryeh Shimron claim theyve reached a scientific breakthrough with theological implications. The finding has been over 35 years in the making, amid court cases, legal restrictions and scientific and biblical pushback. Through methodical scientific testing, Shimron and Jacobovici say that were able to connect the James ossuary whose existence was announced in 2002 and containing inscriptions referencing the burial of Jesus ...
Trooper: Dzhokhar Tsarnaev Had at Least 3 Additional Bombs
Post Date: 2015-04-06 08:05:06 by out damned spot
As horrific as the Boston Marathon Bombing was, it could have been even worse, according to court testimony. According to the Boston Herald, Trooper Robert McCarthy of the state bomb squad took the stand in Tsarnaev's trial on Wednesday, the 9th day of testimony. Among his chilling revelations: that Tsarnaev had abandoned three additional bombs. Two bombs were left at the site of a police shootout; a third one was left in the driver's seat of the 2013 Mercedes SUV that Tsarnaev had stolen while fleeing police. McCarthy said the bomb left in the Mercedes was in a clear, square Tupperware container packed with "two to three pounds" of blast powder and "multiple ...

VIDEO: 50 Years Ago, Paul Harvey Predicted America’s Future… Here’s His Chilling Warning
Post Date: 2015-04-06 01:22:43 by Gatlin
Radio legend Paul Harvey was known for his patriotism and his conservative politics, both of which ring just as true over 70 years after he first took to the microphone. Harveys most famous broadcast was probably his If I were the devil speech, which he first gave in 1965. On its 50th anniversary, it seems oddly prescient of what America has become in the intervening years. The speech, which was about the decline of America through permissiveness and liberalism, sent shockwaves through America when it was first given. If I were the devil
I mean, if I were the Prince of Darkness, I would, of course, want to engulf the whole earth in darkness, Harvey ...
Politics More: AFP Russia Vladimir Putin Ukraine Putin's Ukraine gamble has largely paid off for the Kremlin

Putin's Ukraine gamble has largely paid off for the Kremlin AFP ANNA SMOLCHENKO, AFP APR. 5, 2015, 8:49 AM Moscow (AFP) - A year since the start of the fighting in eastern Ukraine, Vladimir Putin may not have emerged the winner in his showdown with the West but he has not lost either, analysts say. By supporting Ukrainian separatists, they say, he took a huge risk but it largely paid off as it allowed him to punish Kiev's pro-Western authorities for seeking to turn their back on Russia and stand up to the West. Most importantly for the Kremlin, the annexation of Crimea and support for fellow Russian speakers in Ukraine's east have given a huge boost to Putin's popularity ...

Okay. I got two packages of cream cheese. I tried - unsuccessfully - to get sugar free chocolate graham cracker crumbs. So I got Voortman chocolate cookies instead. Got sugar substitutes - no problem there. What I'm gonna do is make a two-layer thing in a spring pan. Bottom layer crust will be mixed with softened butter. That gets lightly baked - till crunchy. On top of that will do half of the cream cheese mixture. This is where I need help. Mid sequence interrupt - Just so we all know what we are doing - Baked chocolate cookie crumb crust on the bottom - Then layer one of the cream cheese mix - Then more (unbaked) chocolate cookie crumbs Then layer Two of the cream cheese mix ...

Selective outrage? Top companies rip Indiana, reap profits in brutal nations
Post Date: 2015-04-05 16:17:03 by nativist nationalist
Big-name American companies blasting Indiana over a law they say promotes discrimination based on sexual orientation check their social consciences at the border when it comes to doing business in nations where gay people face persecution and even death for their orientation, say critics. Companies including Apple, The Gap and Levis - all of which do business in nations with abysmal human rights records - were among the harshest critics of the Hoosier States Religious Freedom Restoration Act, which advocates say defends religious freedom and is similar to a federal law and regulations on the books in more than a dozen states. Other companies have even taken the unusual step of ...
Explaining the libertarian position on antidiscrimination laws
Post Date: 2015-04-05 15:21:31 by tpaine
Explaining the libertarian position on antidiscrimination laws With the recent and continuing hulabaloo over conflicts between antidiscrimination laws and freedom of religion, the charge inevitably arises that anyone who is opposed to, or even skeptical of, antidiscrimination laws that apply to private partieswhich means most people who identify themselves as libertariansis effectively not pro-liberty, but pro-discrimination. I therefore thought it was a good time to reprint my rebuttal of that argument from Cato Unbound, published in 2010, below. The most serious charge has been that libertarian skepticism of antidiscrimination laws that apply to private entities reflects, ...

Ted Cruz’s demented strategy: He doesn’t need to win the White House to push America rightward
Ted Cruz’s candidacy highlights a fundamental rift in the Republican Party, a rift that observers often misunderstand as simply a tug-of-war between different gradations of conservatism. It is a gulf far more profound than this. Most Republicans recognize that the government must regulate some aspects of American capitalism, providing Social Security, veterans benefits, workplace safety, and basic infrastructure at the very least. But Cruz belongs to a reactionary wing of the party that rejects the idea that the government has any role at all to play in the American economy. Since the 1950 ...
Woman Arrested For Posting Selfie With Gun on Facebook (Police state? What police state?)
Post Date: 2015-04-05 14:11:17 by Deckard
Be careful what you post on Facebook, or you could be charged with a crime over your smiling selfie. This is something 26-year-old Kristin Holmes learned the hard way this week when she was arrested and charged with a crime she referred to as Facebook Thugging, for posting of a photo of herself with a handgun. Its not just photos that can get you in trouble though, the Fraternal Order of Police is warning that in Virginia, you can be charged with this crime even for swearing. Holmes was charged with harassment by computer after a case of mistaken identity escalated into a Facebook comment feud. A woman had reportedly mistaken Holmes for ...
Protecting and Serving: Texas Man Thrown in Jail for Weeks because his Lawn was Overgrown
Post Date: 2015-04-05 14:03:30 by Deckard
Grand Prairie, TX A hard-working Texas man was thrown in jail after a warrant was issued for his arrest for an overgrown lawn. Rick Yoes is the campus electrician for Tarrant County College and usually works from before sun-up to after sun-down. In September of last year, he and his daughter had been hard at work and were unable to cut the lawn on their Grand Prairie home. The local government then claimed that because Yoes could not mow hiss lawn, he now owed them $1,700 for his grass that achieved a height of over six inches. A warrant was subsequently issued for his arrest and police were dispatched to keep us safe from the dangers of this mans lawn. Yoes turned ...

The end of television? [Time to finally shut it off for good?]
Post Date: 2015-04-05 11:36:07 by TooConservative
I was watching Ace go through a fairly epic rant on Twitter the other day on the subject of television, and Im fairly sure it led to this rather remarkable essay and declaration of war on the boob tube. Its easy enough to criticize television in general for many of us, and particularly when politically fixated consumers are talking about cable news or network anchors. But Ace has taken this to the meta level, essentially walking away from every band on the broadcast spectrum because of the way it is soaked in the language of the left, not to mention being a colossal waste of time. We all know what the expanded version of the problem is: The problem is that we live ...

This is the week of Passover, the Feast of Unleavened Bread, and the Feast of First Fruits. Millions of Jews in Israel and around the world are celebrating the story of how the Jewish people were saved from the angel of death in ancient times if they put the blood of a perfect slain lamb on the doorposts of their homes in Egypt. This is also the week of Good Friday and Easter. Billions of Christians around the world are celebrating the death of Jesus of Nazareth, and His resurrection from the tomb three days later, and the belief that all mankind can be saved from the angel of death in our times if we, too, trust in the blood of a perfect slain Passover Lamb. But ...
