Teens Smoke Crushed Ants to Get High
Post Date: 2015-03-15 01:48:30 by Gatlin

If you see a group of boys huddled behind a building and blowing smoke, chances are they are puffing cigarettes away from the prying eyes of their parents. Not necessarily, though. For all you know, they could be smoking crushed ants to get a high. Shocking as it may appear, the bizarre and dangerous fad has gripped UAE teens and kids, some as young as 10. Energy drinks and medhwak (smoking pipe) in hand, they scour the alleys and sandy parking lots in certain parts of Dubai and Sharjah, looking for the native samsun (Pachycondyla sennaarensis) black ant. Once caught, the insects are crushed, rolled into tobacco leaves or sprinkled over cigarettes and smoked. Adverse effects Inhaling ...

Obama Administration considers independent journalists to be 'enemies of the state,' warn reporters

Author and former CBS News investigative reporter Sharyl Attkisson recently told senators considering confirmation of President Obama's next attorney general pick, Loretta Lynch, that the nominee would need to "chart a new path" from the White House's abysmal record of essentially treating some reporters like "enemies of the state."Attkisson's accusations before the Senate Judiciary Committee were akin to those made in her 2014 book Stonewalled, in which she detailed how the Obama Administration -- and officials in her own network -- worked to prevent the public from learning more about several scandals, including Operation Fast and Furious, Benghazi and the ...

U.S. Sen. Ron Wyden says the Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act passed by the Senate Intelligence Committee is a "surveillance bill by another name." Reuters All but one of the 15 members of the U.S. Senate Intelligence Committee voted in favor of a cybersecurity bill Thursday. The measure would allow government agencies such as the Department of Homeland Security to exchange information with private companies about data breaches and hacking threats.Called the Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act of 2015 (CISA), the bill would give companies that share data about threats liability protections, allowing them to report more information about cyberthreats to the public. Food Company Ordered To Remove the Word "Meat" from Meatballs
Post Date: 2015-03-14 22:24:20 by Deckard

Kesko, a Finnish food company, has been forced to remove the word ‘meat’ from the packaging of their meatballs. The product is now labeled as just ‘balls’. The reason for the change is because it has been deemed that the ‘balls’ do not contain enough meat to be classified as such. “The balls have the equivalent of 52% meat. However, according to current legislation, they aren’t from parts of the animal that can be described as meat,” said Kesko spokeswoman Heta Rautpalo. Part of the problem with the ‘meat’ percentage is that it is derived from mechanically separated meat (MSM). MSM, which has been referred to as ‘white ...

Fox News Hires Navy SEAL Who Claims He Killed Bin Laden

Rob O’Neill, the former Navy SEAL who claims that he fired the weapon which killed Osama Bin Laden, has been hired as an on-air analyst by Fox News Channel. The conservative cable news outlet which aired a two hour profile called “The Man Who Killed Osama bin Laden” on O’Neill in November, will utilize O’Neill as a “military expert” on multiple shows which broadcast on the station. Despite multiple reports — including one by Fox News — that Osama Bin Laden died prior to the 2011 raid, the ex-SEAL has continually repeated that he delivered the head shots which killed the former Al-Qaeda leader. ...

SINCE open letters to secretive and duplicitous regimes are in fashion, we would like to post an Open Letter to the Leaders of the Clinton Republic of Chappaqua: It has come to our attention while observing your machinations during your attempted restoration that you may not fully understand our constitutional system. Thus, we are writing to bring to your attention two features of our democracy: The importance of preserving historical records and the ill-advised gluttony of an American feminist icon wallowing in regressive Middle Eastern states’ payola. You should seriously consider these characteristics of our nation as the Campaign-That-Must-Not-Be-Named progresses. If you, ...

WASHINGTON (March 12, 2015) — A new extensive survey shows Americans' confidence in all three branches of government is at or near record lows. And the media is not doing well either.  The 2014 General Social Survey finds only 23 percent of Americans have a great deal of confidence in the Supreme Court, 11 percent in the executive branch and 5 percent in Congress. By contrast, half have a great deal of confidence in the military. The survey is conducted by the independent research organization NORC at the University of Chicago. Because of its long-running and comprehensive set of questions about the public, it is a highly regarded source of data about social ...

Why is China building artificial islands?

Something astonishing is happening in the South China Sea, and there are satellite photos to prove it. The Chinese government has been sending construction equipment to a string of small islands in disputed waters and quietly making them bigger. The effect is pretty dramatic — drag the slider below to see how things have changed at Fiery Cross Reef in the Spratly Islands, which are claimed by China and several other Asian countries. The first photo shows the reef last August. It’s totally underwater; the only habitable area is a small concrete platform built by the Chinese navy. Now look at the second photo, showing the same reef in January. It’s now an artificial island ...

WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report) – After a challenging week for the legislative body, the approval rating of the United States Congress has shrunk to a point where it is no longer detectable by the technology currently available, a leading pollster said on Friday.Davis Logsdon, who heads the highly regarded Opinion Research Institute at the University of Minnesota, said that his polling unit has developed highly sensitive measurement technology in recent years to gauge Congress’s popularity as it fell into the single digits, but added that “as of this week, Congress is basically flatlining.”“At the beginning of the week, you could still see a slight flicker of ...

75% of Denver Cops Aren’t Turning on Body Cams in Use of Force Contacts, This is Why

The camera doesn’t lie, which happens to be a significant inconvenience for some officers. Denver, CO — A local news team in Denver has obtained video twice in just one week of officers brutalizing individuals. Both time the officers were disciplined after it was exposed. The latest cop to be caught using excessive force on an arrestee is officer Chad Sinnema. Sinnema was suspended for a mere four days after using force that could have killed a man back in August. CBS 4 obtained video from a Denver police department body camera that was rolling Aug. 22, 2014, when officers apprehended a suspect in a domestic violence incident in downtown Denver. Hillary Clinton’s email scandal is burning out of control like an unchecked forest fire and it doesn’t appear that relief is on the way anytime soon. According to Stephen Hayes, a senior writer at the Weekly Standard, two of Clinton’s top aides had access to and used her personal email account while they were all employed at the State Department. He specifically mentioned Clinton’s trusted aide for twenty years, Huma Abedin, a woman with known ties to the Muslim Brotherhood. As most of our readers know, one of the Muslim Brotherhood’s core objectives is to, “destroy Western civilization from within.” Having access to the Secretary of State’s ...

Opelousas, La. – In a striking example of authoritarian overreach, a Louisiana Police Chief, Donald Thompson asked the city council to enact an ordinance banning sagging pants on men and women. “It’s something that I think that’s very disrespectful here in this city for the citizens of the city of Opelousas. It’s inappropriate, and it’s time that some city ordinance is put in place to enforce that,” Thompson told KATC. Thompson claims he is ready to take on any legal challenges to the proposed ordinance, with the Mayor and city legal advisor stating they will look into the legalities of the ordinance, according to Daily World.“I’m not afraid of ...

The vast majority of Chinese citizens believe the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) could seize islands in the East and South China Seas, even if the U.S. military were to intervene in the conflicts. No less than 87 percent of respondents said that the Chinese military already possessed the capability to take back the Diaoyu/Senkaku Islands from Japan, according to a recent public opinion poll. When asked whether they still believed the PLA could achieve this objective if the U.S. intervened in the conflict, 74 percent said yes. The numbers were much the same for the South China Sea. When asked whether they believed the PLA could militarily take back ...

Mom finds deadly 'erection' spider in store bananas

There was something about the bunch of store-bought bananas that didn't look right to Maria Layton. Bananas shouldn't have cottony white cocoons clinging to their skins. But when the 43-year-old mom from southern Wales called Tesco, the supermarket chain, she was repeatedly told to bring the fruit back to the store in Pontardawe. Her reluctance to return egg sac-coated bananas was well-founded. The spider that laid them was likely a Brazilian wandering spider, a.k.a. "banana spider," the world's most venomous eight-legged critter. Layton had read about the formidable genus Phoneutria ("murderess") arachnids, which build their webs among bananas when ...

The Islamic State’ video-dissemination of one of its goons beheading an American is an existential challenge from which we cannot afford to shrink. Until the Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL/IS) did that, it made sense for the U.S. government to help contain it because the Islamic world, which the IS threatens most directly, must destroy it sooner or later. But internetting that beheading was a gory declaration of America’s impotence—a dare-by-deed that is sure to move countless young persons around the globe to get in on killing us, anywhere they can. The longer the Islamic State survives, the more will take up its dare. Either we kill the IS, or we will deserve the wave of ...

Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, speaks at the International Association of Firefighters (IAFF) Legislative Conference and Presidential Forum in Washington. While questions about Canadian-born Sen. Ted Cruz’s eligibility to be president haven’t drawn much attention, two former Justice Department lawyers have weighed in with a bipartisan verdict: Cruz, they say, is eligible to run for the White House. Neal Katyal, acting solicitor general in the Obama administration, and Paul Clemente, solicitor general in President George W. Bush’s administration, got out in front of the issue in a Harvard Law Review article. “There is no question that Senator Cruz has been a citizen from birth ...

Hillary’s Next Scandal to Break Soon…Passenger Lists of Her Flights Ordered Released by Judge

Hillary’s ride to 1400 Pennsylvania Avenue just got bumpier. A judge on Friday ordered the State Department to turn over passenger manifests to Citizens United as a result of a FOIA request that State had ignored. The quick ruling appears to show that judges patience for stonewalling by the Obama administration has reached it’s limit and they no longer feel like giving them the benefit of a doubt. Those manifests could bury Hillary 2016 before it even starts. There seems to be a connection between donors to the Clinton Foundation and contracts from foreign countries receiving favorable treatment from the State Department. Sixty companies contributed $26 million to the foundation. ...

State Department challenges Clinton claim that mails to officials ‘immediately’ saved--Not until Feb '15

A State Department spokeswoman said Friday that the department did not start automatically archiving emails from senior officials until February of this year -- raising questions about Hillary Clinton's claim that her emails were "immediately" saved whenever she corresponded with colleagues. The former secretary of state made that assertion during her press conference earlier this week -- and in a lengthy statement put out by her office -- as she defended her exclusive use of personal email. Clinton downplayed concerns that official emails could have been lost by suggesting anytime she emailed anyone with a ".gov" address, that email would be stored for posterity. ...

Here’s the Disgraceful Tweet Mike Brown’s Mom Posted After 2 Cops Were Shot in Ferguson

For months we were led by the liberal mainstream media to believe that thug Mike Brown had been the victim of an unjustified shooting by a racist Ferguson police officer. While we now know for a fact that Mike Brown was anything but a victim, we also incidentally know that his family members are anything but the upstanding citizens they claim to be. Take for instance his mother, Leslie Mcspadden, who had the audacity to gleefully celebrate the shooting of two Ferguson police officers by tweeting the following message: She issued the tweet, which was uncovered by Ferguson Scanner Updates, sometime early Thursday morning, only hours after two Ferguson officers were nearly killed by race ...

The Iranian government is urging the United States to go straight to the United Nations to finalize any agreement reached in the coming weeks regarding Tehran’s contested nuclear program without seeking congressional approval. Javad Zarif, Iran’s foreign minister and top negotiator, suggested in a recent interview that the U.N. Security Council should be responsible for approving any agreement reached between Western powers and Tehran over its nuclear program, a proposal that the Obama administration entertained on Thursday. The State Department argues that a nonbinding agreement with Iran—one that would not be subject to congressional oversight or approval—could be ...

We surmised yesterday that the Obama administration had the idea to go to the United Nations to pass by resolution what Congress would never agree to: a lifting of sanctions on Iran in exchange for a nearly worthless deal in which Iran would keep thousands of centrifuges and get a 10-year glide path to nuclear breakout. Sen. Bob Corker (R-Tenn.), seeing what was afoot, demanded an explanation from the White House, calling such a scheme an “affront to the American people.” On Thursday evening, after being pressed by irate Republicans, the National Security Council issued a defensive statement insisting that it would do no such thing. The story was handed to BuzzFeed: The U.S. has ...
