I've also noticed that the people who most loudly express their horror at the notion of a partial government closure seem totally comfortable with the fiscal wall we are barreling into. HAMAS -- is a word that is familiar to people who keep up on the news about current events in Israel. Of all the anti-Israel Muslim terrorist organizations, Hamas is one of the most violent. The Hebrew word hamas, in fact, means violence. According to the Gesenius Hebrew lexicon, the Arabic cognate of the Hebrew word hamas means warlike valour (noun form) or to be active, brave, constant (verb form). We’ve all seen horrifying images of coordinated attacks that took place in Israel in the early hours yesterday morning. Struggling, crying women being thrown into vehicles and hauled away. When I was first told that Israel was at war, I did not believe it.
