Pro-life Delegates Prevent Radical Right to Abortion Amendment from Passage in Virginia House of Delegates Post Date: 2023-02-26 01:45:32 by Charles_Byrd

After a week of debate on the house floor devoted to changing to the rules of the House of Delegates in Virginia, an effort led by pro-abortion Delegates to force a vote on the previously defeated Right to Abortion Amendment, has been defeated. Pro-abortion extremists in the House used the week of floor speeches to spread more manipulative and dramatic scare tactics to make their case for enshrining Roe v. Wade in Virginias Constitution. This amendment would allow abortion through all nine months of pregnancy, require tax funding of abortion, and prevent any reasonable protective pro-life laws in the future. Click for Full Text!

A promo line for media critic Steve Krakauers Uncovered: How the Media Got Cozy With Power, Abandoned Its Principles, and Lost the People says, The fourth estate is supposed to be a conduit to the people and a check on power. Instead, we have a bunch of geographically isolated, introspection-free, cozy-with-power, egomaniacal journalists thirsty for elite approval. Weve known that for some time. But Krakauer, a report on the newly published book says, proves it in spades by disclosing the mass hysteria inside The New York Times after it published Senator Tom Cottons op-ed Send In the Troops. Cotton, a Republican from Arkansas, argued that the Floyd Hoax Riots ...
'America Has Lost the War on Drugs,' The New York Times Says, but Should Keep Fighting It Anyway Post Date: 2023-02-24 05:11:02 by Charles_Byrd

In 2014, more than a century after The New York Times began warning readers about the insanity-inducing, violence-provoking properties of "a harmless-looking plant" known as "marihuana," the paper published an editorial endorsing legalization of a drug it had once blamed for causing madness, mayhem, and murder. That reversal happened 18 years after California became the first state to legalize medical use of cannabis, two years after Colorado and Washington became the first states to legalize recreational use, and a year after Gallup reported that most Americans already favored repealing pot prohibition. The Gray Lady's cannabis conversion followed decades of ...
My Daughter's School District Warns That Nicotine Vapers Could Be Unknowingly Inhaling Fentanyl Post Date: 2023-02-24 05:09:14 by Charles_Byrd

This week I received a "Drug Awareness and Prevention Alert" from my daughter's school district. As is typical of these communications, the message from the Plano, Texas, Independent School District (ISD) mixes sensible advice with alarmist rhetoric and misinformation. That is a risky combination, because skeptical students and parents who recognize the anti-drug nonsense may be inclined to dismiss all of the warnings, including those that have a basis in fact. The alert mentions "fake pills laced with fentanyl," which is a real thing, then adds that fentanyl "can be disguised as candy in order to lure younger kids," which is not a real thing. But this ...
FTC Investigating, but Not Thwarting, Amazon Acquisition of One Medical Post Date: 2023-02-24 05:07:46 by Charles_Byrd

Yesterday Amazon closed its $3.9 billion deal to acquire the parent company of concierge health care provider One Medical without being halted by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), which failed to sue in time to block the deal. The agency says it will continue investigating the transaction. "The commission will continue to look at possible harms to competition created by this merger as well as possible harms to consumers that may result from Amazon's control and use of sensitive consumer health information held by One Medical," said FTC spokesman Douglas Farrar earlier this week. Biden Renominates Gigi Sohn, Net Neutrality Advocate, to the FCC Post Date: 2023-02-24 05:04:50 by Charles_Byrd

President Joe Biden has renominated Gigi Sohn to fill the Federal Communications Commission's (FCC) now-vacant fifth seat. This is the third time Sohn has been nominated. Should she gain the Senate's approval, she will break the agency's current 22 Democrat-Republican logjam and allow the agency to re-enact Obama-era net neutrality regulations, which are economically nonsensical and largely unnecessary. The FCC's 2015 regulations forbade internet service providers from blocking content or discriminatorily slowing specific content and banned the practice of paid prioritizationi.e., a company paying an internet service provider (ISP) to favor its content. California should stop relying on taxation by citation Post Date: 2023-02-24 05:01:17 by Charles_Byrd

Across the country, state and local governments use fines and fees as a source of revenue to fund public services. But reliance upon this taxation by citation is not only a threat to individual liberty, it can also undermine public safety and result in fiscal instability. A new Reason Foundation policy brief shows why using fines and fees to generate government revenue undermines justice and fiscal responsibility in California. Fines and fees are commonplace throughout the justice system. In many cases, fines are considered desirable because they are an intermediate form of punishment. Slapping someone with a fine is less severe than incarceration but is tough punishment for many low-level ...

North Carolina lawmakers ask court to allow them to join litigation to defend state restrictions on abortion pills Post Date: 2023-02-22 20:26:41 by Charles_Byrd

Faced with the certainty that pro-abortion Democratic Attorney General Josh Stein will not defend a North Carolinas law requiring a woman to make an in-person visit to obtain mifepristone, the first of two drugs making up the chemical abortion technique, Lawyers for Senate leader Phil Berger and House Speaker Tim Moore filed papers in federal court asking to enter the case as new defendants, saying someone must be in place to rigorously defend state abortion laws, Gary D. Robertson reported for the Associated Press. Under North Carolina law, abortionists must provide mifepristone in person at a particular type of facility after a 72-hour waiting period and, in some ...
SB 131’s goal is to make Nevada an abortion tourism destination Post Date: 2023-02-22 20:05:41 by Charles_Byrd

After millions of dollars dumped into Nevada to elect pro-abortion legislators in the 2022 cycle, it is no surprise that the Democrat Senate Majority Leader Nicole Cannizzarro used her FIRST bill as a thank you to the abortion industry. On February 20, SB131 was heard in the Commerce and Labor Committee which is fitting as the bill hopes to bolster Nevada as an abortion tourism destination while disregarding the health and safety of women, children, and unborn babies. On Tuesday, February 21, the abortion lobby released their ballot initiatives language to enshrine abortion into Ohios constitution. The language would allow for abortion with no restrictions and possibly remove all pro-life protections for the preborn currently enacted, including parental consent. In the language they announced, it states that it would permit abortion to be prohibited after fetal viability; however, it then states that fetal viability can only be determined on a case-by-case basis, allowing for abortion through all nine months. Former “Transgender” Clinic Worker Blows Whistle: What’s Done to Kids Is “Morally and Medically Appalling” Post Date: 2023-02-21 03:08:50 by Charles_Byrd

Jamie Reed didnt want to speak up. After all, she understood the possible career ramifications for exposing the malpractice at the pediatric transgender clinic for which she once worked. She also knew that what gave her revelations added credibility wouldnt protect her. To wit: Reed describes herself as a queer, 42-year-old woman whos married to a transman (a female masquerading as male). But she finally felt compelled to blow the whistle because her former employers medical practices are, as she puts it, morally and medically appalling. In fact, the doctors at the Washington University Transgender Center ...
