PAHRUMP (KSNV My News 3) – A bonfire is planned for Saturday in the Nye County town of Pahrump, just an hour from Las Vegas. Pastor Tony Falcone of the Mountain View Chapel is preparing to cast aside the sins of the world. "We are not going to make it that big," Falcone says as he points out the pit for the fire. "I asked God to give me a vision to something I could do to help the citizens of Pahrump," Pastor Tony says.He came up with the idea for a public bonfire. "I'm taking this yucky sin stuff I've been carrying around and I'm going to burn it,” Falcone says. “It becomes like a sin offering."The pastor invites people to bring ...

Way back in 1999 I did a couple of sermons dealing with why God had cursed the US with Clinton, the same then as today with obama the muslim terrorist sodomite in the oval office. for the week starting Sunday December 5th, 1999 Why Clinton, why now? Why Clinton is president Do you sometimes wonder why Bill Clinton is president of these United States of America? Do you ask yourself how the likes of Barbara Boxer, Ted Kennedy, Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe could ever become members of the US Senate? Aren't you curious as to how the US House of Representatives became a hangout for the likes of Barney Frank, John Baldacci, John Conyers and Maxine Waters? I believe we will find the ...

Jesus Died in a Police State

“If Jesus had been killed twenty years ago, Catholic school children would be wearing little electric chairs around their necks instead of crosses.”―Lenny Bruce If you buy into the version of Christianity Lite peddled by evangelical leaders such as Franklin Graham, who recently advised Americans to do as the Bible says and “submit to your leaders and those in authority,” then staying alive in the American police state depends largely on your ability to comply, submit, obey orders, respect authority and generally do whatever a cop tells you to do. If, however, you’re one of those who prefers to model yourself after Jesus Christ himself—a radical ...

5 Verses You Thought Were in the Bible… but Aren't

Even though Western culture gets slapped with the “Post-Christian” label, that doesn’t mean references to biblical ideas have been scrubbed away. In fact, nods to Scripture show up quite often in pop culture—from movies to rockstars. But as often as not, these attempts at grabbing onto what the Bible actually says can miss. By a lot. You see, we’ve got some “everybody knows” notions about God’s Word that borrow much more from Western ethos than they do from the Wisdom literature. You could say they're something like the “old wives’ tales” that popular imagination has attributed to the Good Book. That doesn’t mean these ...

Mass exorcism of schoolkids leaves many in hysterics as priest attempts to 'banish the Devil' (Poland)

The priest claimed to be purifying the youngsters who were attending what they thought was a religious campPolish school children at a religious camp to celebrate Lent were left screaming and in tears when priest Tomas Wieczorek, 37, carried out a mass exorcism School children have been left screaming and sobbing after a priest carried out a mass exorcism on them at a religious camp. The 1,000 young people, from schools in the town of Gryfice, north-western Poland, were attending the three-day camp to help "young people explore God and devote themselves to spiritual renewal through prayer". But instead of singing songs and praying, priest Tomas Wieczorek, 37, was more interested ...

What kind of covenant will the Antichrist really confirm?

We have assumed that it is a 7 year peace treaty by a charming statesman who brings people together in a gracious covenant that he breaks several years later, and only then he betrays Israel. Where does it say this? If we are looking for the wrong clues, we will miss what is really going to happen. So let us look at what the Bible says. More on who he is will be in a different post, so this does not get too long. He is not the friendly guy you hear about. Key Verse: Dan 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make [it] ...

Behold My Servant…Isaiah 52-53 pt 1 Posted on March 24, 2015 by billrandles Behold, my servant shall deal prudently, he shall be exalted and extolled, and be very high. As many were astonied at thee; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men: So shall he sprinkle many nations; the kings shall shut their mouths at him: for that which had not been told them shall they see; and that which they had not heard shall they consider…(Isaiah 52:13-15) Before we look closely at the Evangelical jewel known as the 4th Servant Song of Isaiah, consisting of the above three verses in chapter 52, and all of Isaiah 53, it would be good to look at the ...

Jonah: Two Stories of Miraculous Repentance

Jonah: Two Stories of Miraculous Repentance Though it has been highly romanticized as a Sunday school classic, Jonah’s three-day stay inside a fish was an indescribable horror. Lodged in the cramped and clammy darkness, he was likely unable to move and barely able to breathe due to the suffocating stench. The gastric acids of the fish’s stomach ate away at his skin, and the constant motion of the fish combined with the changing pressure of the ocean’s depths must have been absolutely nauseating. Though attempts have been made to provide a scientific explanation for Jonah’s survival, it is best to understand this remarkable preservation as a divine miracle. The Lord ...

A Tender Word for Pharisees

This Sunday I preached at Watermark Church in Dallas under the title “A Tender Word for Pharisees.” There are not many tender words for Pharisees in the mouth of Jesus. Mainly his words to Pharisees are tough, even terrifying (see Matthew 23). The most moving words of tenderness for Pharisees are in Luke 15:25–31, the words of the father to the elder brother in the parable of the prodigal son. Luke 15 begins with Jesus eating with “tax collectors and sinners.” The Pharisees grumbled, “This man receives sinners and eats with them” (Luke 15:2). Jesus explains what he is doing with three parables: the lost sheep, the lost coin, and the lost son. The point ...

Once of my nieces posted this on Facebook today: 3 years ago we decided to do something crazy, something my peers said wouldn't work or be beneficial. Through Bible Club at Hartland High, we started a girls small group after school at Biggby on Wednesday's. It wasn't affiliated with a specific church, just an open conversation about God. Sometimes there were three of us, but over the course of that year, I watched as more and more girls came. The discussions were crazy cool! 3 years later, it's still happening and God is being glorified through it all. Lives are being changed and girls are coming to experience Christ. Thanks Sydney Wheat for listening and surrendering to ...

Why I never preach against the use of deadly force

Tuesday, March 10, 2015 Why I never preach against the use of deadly force Romans 2:3 Therefore thou art inexcusable O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things. ... And thinkest thou this, O man that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God? Romans 2:1&3 ACP/KJV This thought says a lot about me and about other preachers who believe in the Word of God and His word as well. Sunday, while listening to the sermon of Pastor Stephen Baum at the First Baptist Church of West Albuquerque, one of the best sermons I have heard, he quoted, ...

Your benefit from preaching is going to be in direct proportion to your engagement thoughtfully in the text. Sometimes that’s a little easier if you’re closer to the front, but as long as you have the Word of God in your hand, you need to engage your heart and your mind with the text. And I’m saying that here because the text with which you are about to engage is one of the most important sections in all the 66 books of the Bible. In fact, one could argue that this might be one of the three or four most important scriptures in the Bible, and that’s not simply because it is in fact the words of our Lord, although that is essential in itself. Every part of Scripture is the ...

(A Sermon Preached at Enfield, July 8th, 1741 at a Time of Great Awakenings, and Attended with Remarkable Impressions on many of the Hearers.) Their foot shall slide in due time.— Deut. 32:35. In this verse is threatened the vengeance of God on the wicked unbelieving Israelites, who were God’s visible people, and who lived under the means of grace; but who, notwithstanding all God’s wonderful works towards them, remained (as Deut. 32:28) void of counsel, having no understanding in them. Under all the cultivations of heaven, they brought forth bitter and poisonous fruit; as in the two verses next preceding the text.—The expression I have chosen for my text, their foot ...

There are three main reasons why the "antichrist" will be an artificially intelligent android: 1) When following the instructions given in Revelation in how to identify the "antichrist" we find 666 yields a binary code. 2) The "antichrist" is actually said to be an artificial representation, or "image", that comes to life. 3) The Beast is described in Daniel as repeatedly being different from all other kingdoms and rulers that came before it and, in Revelation, unable to be defeated or warred against. Here is a video that explains all these ideas in a bit more detail: There are three main reasons why the "antichrist" will be an ...

THE LAW, then and now Exodus 20 Jesus said: "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil." Matthew 5:17 ACP/KJV First of all, what is the Law? And then what was it for before Christ and what is it for since Christ? Let's start with what is the Law? The Law is the Ten Commandments: 1 And God spake all these words, saying, 2-6 I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before Me. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is ...

How Many Races Did God Create?

Some people think the Bible justifies their racist attitudes. Yet when we examine what the Bible says about the origin of different people groups, we find a different story. It’s easy to see that people come in all shapes and sizes. Some are short, some are tall, some have red hair, some have brown hair, some have big noses . . . well, you get the idea. It’s an amazing variety of people. Despite this variety, we tend to group people according to one or more physical features they share in common. These groups are often called “races,” and the features that define them, “racial characteristics.” Many people treat others differently, depending on these ...

We come now to the gospel of John. Tonight we’re going to look at James, the brother of our Lord, and have a wonderful time looking at that unlikely hero. But for this morning, we’re going to begin the gospel of John, and we’re going to do that for a while to come. And just to kind of get a running start and sort of set-up the importance of this study that we’re about to embark upon, I remind you of something that you well know, that the Lord Jesus Christ is the theme of all Scripture, not just the New Testament, but the Old Testament as well. We all understand that the New Testament is about Him, the four gospels that give us the focus on the Lord Jesus Christ. The ...

The right way to understand history is to start from the beginning. What was it like to be a Christian in the earliest church in Rome? We have a marvellous picture of this earliest church, provided by the New Testament scholar Peter Lampe, author of the work "From Paul to Valentinus: Christians in Rome in the First Two Centuries." The Catholic historian Eamon Duffy writes in his work, "Sinners and Saints": "All modern discussion of the issues must now start from [this] exhaustive and persuasive analysis by Peter Lampe.” Lampe seemingly searched and analyzed every scrap of paper from that era, every tomb, every inscription, every archaeological find, every ...

Beautiful for Situation, the Joy of the Whole Earth, is Mount Zion There is only one place in the world that God has declared as holy, and that's Mount Zion and the land of Israel. The prophet Isaiah wrote this - "Then the moon shall be confounded, and the sun ashamed, when the LORD of hosts shall reign in mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, and before his ancients gloriously." Isaiah 24:23. There is only one people that are God's "chosen people", and they are the Jews. "And I have put my words in thy mouth, and I have covered thee in the shadow of mine hand, that I may plant the heavens, and lay the foundations of the earth, and say unto Zion, Thou art my ...

How Did the Early Church Recognize the Canonicity of a Book? [Full Thread]

There is a misconception, popularized by books like The Da Vinci Code, that the way the books of the Bible were chosen consisted of politically infused church councils voting on the books they liked, and voting out the books they didn’t like. However, a careful reading of church history totally disproves this misconception. As noted in a previous post, the church understood its role as recognizing what books God, himself, had inspired. This job of recognition was something the early church took very seriously, but how did they go about doing it? What were the criteria they used? We know that propheticity was a necessary condition for canonicity, but sometimes church fathers who were ...

JERUSALEM – Over 100 tablets that date back to the times of Nebuchadnezzar’s rule in Babylon, now modern-day Iraq, have been placed on display in Jerusalem as a further testament to the reliability of the Scriptures. The palm-sized tablets, which provide a glimpse into the lives of the Jews during the time they lived in exile in Babylon, had been discovered in Iraq and held by a UK-based Israeli collector. The artifacts contain writing in the ancient akkadian cuneiform script and detail transactions, trades and contracts between Jews in approximately 500 B.C. They also trace at least one Judean family over four generations: a man named Samak-Yama, his son, grandson and his ...

Monday, February 9, 2015 Do not give up! Do not surrender! Luke 23:39-43 In this day of instant gratification, of ignorance of God, God's Word, God's word and current events, it is all to easy for churches that preach what God said and not what some know He meant to say to give up, to surrender, to cut the number of services, the length of the sermon, the length of the service, and turn away from the KJV to such heresies as the NIV. To Them, to their pastors, board of elders, trusties and congregation, I say don't give up, don't surrender, add services, return to the KJV. Pastors, churches, you are the sowers of God's word. How can you sow when the doors are closed, ...

What does God command regarding the baby about to be aborted? Does God command us to stand around and do nothing or does He command us to rescue the baby by what ever means we need to use? You decide: Deliver those who are drawn toward death, And hold back those stumbling to the slaughter. If you say, "Surely we did not know this," Does not He who weighs the hearts consider it? He who keeps your soul, does He not know it? And will He not render to each man according to his deeds? Proverbs 24:11&12.
